Despite what we may have always thought, love is not what you feel, it is what you do. When you are not accustomed to doing something, it takes quite a bit of practice to get it right. Once you get it right, then the feeling may come and, it may even stick and stay. When you tell someone you love them, identify it by what you do. Likewise, when someone tells you they love you, identify it by what they do. If it does not line up with what God has established it to do, then, it couldn’t possibly be love.
“[Love] does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].” 1 Cor. 13:6 AMP
